The University of Western Ontario Faculty Association has formally requested Western\'s President to suspend shuttle service for students during the LTC strike./ ^8 F' A, o# F; _) H( F% ^" c
They\'re making the request in support of the London Transit Union which likened the shuttle service earlier this morning to \"union busting\".! O0 _' E! L) m& w
The Faculty Association is one of the University\'s largest unions and represents more than 1500 professors and other staff. 8 j2 {: B3 v: E
It had earlier said its members would not cross picket lines if LTC union members decided to protest the shuttle service near campus -- a move which would have left classrooms and lecture halls virtually empty.
